My 2nd Mercury Mark 55
This one is a late '56 or possibly an early 1957 Mark 55. I bought it for the flywheel and starter for my 1955 model. I also has an alternator, rectifier and the choke solenoid. thanks guys, Randy, i do have negative trim, I did what you said, put a straight edge on the bottom of the boat. I made a video and I will post it soon, it seems to me, the motor may be a little low, as I was using the bottom of the straight edge as a guide, instead of the top of it. Thanks again fe...

The reason I didnt use a factory color is because this is supposed to be a quick/inexpensive clean-up of this motor to make it presentable. there's alot of mercury fever running round the forum. The upper cowl, faceplate & badge, choke knob and the stainless steel shroud are at the polisher, should be back by weeks end. Scored a nice set of quicksilver controls. i painted up the lower cowl, housing and lower unit. Im looking for a start...
