Re: Aussie Belle

Those are fantastic!!! And very stylish. Just looking around for some cowl vents also and see selection is very limited from normal sources. Great find.

Re: Monaco Caper

Hopefully the last drop of the engine into the boat. Mufflers and fittings arrived today. Trimming inside from front through engine compartment to rear, then onto final mechanical s , electrical and finally deck system. Had to do a little modifying on the hatch for the engine, but was able to keep i...

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

On this part I used wood screws , because of the very large nut and backing washer. Looks good. I also epoxied the spacer backing block.

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

Must have read that also sometime in the past as that is where I put mine, 10 inches starboard to center of outlet from strut. I actually added a piece of wood because of it's proximity to a batten to make the inside flush for the nuts etc. It does end up in front of my tank, and just behind the rea...

Re: New Member from The Villages, Florida

JustMe, Been on and off a build a couple of years now. Also have a friend trying to get me to golf with him while he is here in Florida for the winter. I agreed, but make him help me once a week on the Monaco Caper project as a trade off. I am just west of you in Homosassa Florida. Down 200 past Inv...

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

Skip, I did lots of forum reading but did decide to place mine just aft of frame #1, between battens as Neil suggests, about 10" starboard of centerline. I did this mostly due to wanting to make sure to be in a place that should always be in the water on the Monaco. My engine is a flywheel forward 3...

Re: Monaco Caper

Bob,

Thank you. I have been in and out of the build and the thread for over two years. But back at it again, and this time hope to get to the end by next Thanksgiving.

Re: Monaco Caper

Jenko Absolutely right. Unless you have built a couple of boats, one's creativity and research takes over on how to proceed. Very few instructions on how to design interiors, as everyone's tastes and goals will be different. That's where the galleries, are helpful, and the forum, but in the end, it'...

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

Skip ,

Really like the fiberglass tubes. I didn't do it but wished I had on my Monaco. I just epoxied the hole and added a little glass material. Your build and process looks great!

Re: Monaco Caper

Been able to spend some quality time with my Monaco , again. Still working interior front to back. A few details left in front cockpit area, but overall happy with how it is coming. Next week will be resetting the engine, and working on the engine compartment for a couple of weeks, and mocking up ex...

Re: Monaco Caper

Thanks Billy , I wanted to run lower than stringer, then reread manuals and saw the notation on the Centex ski muffler about being above water line. I will run a mockup to see what fittings needed to make the proper angles from exhaust to flapper. Finally back on project, called in a friend to help ...

Re: Monaco Muffler

Billy C said: "the inline ski mufflers work sound great, can run oustside the stringers and pass the db laws" Billy, also looking at the Centex ski muffler, but they state to be used above waterline only. In the Monaco, that will require routing around both sides of the rear seat to maintain a exhau...
