Re: Oil Gusher!

Finally a thread I know exactly what I'm talking about. lol No they don't work at these depths. On all of these rigs there are only ROVs, not divers for working on this equipment. I can't say much out in the public as my company that I work for has equipment that is on this well. I actually used to ...

Re: trailer recommendations

yessir, I totally agree and that's why I love the idea of these old Mastercrafts as doners. Man this trailer I got is awesome! all 4 wheels have hydraulic brakes, it's built for an inboard, and it's just solid as a rock. Like you were saying, it's no telling what one of these well built trailers wou...

Re: trailer recommendations

Oh I couldn't agree more with you Oyster in the fact that you get something far more superior when you DIY. Alls I was suggesting is the fact that the doner way is cheap, the most bang for your buck so to speak. I can say that the trailer I got with that MC is well built and will one day make a grea...

Re: Iron Wood, hey you down under guys!

The Jet Boat I have listed in the for sale thread has motor stringers made from African Iron wood. I went to an exotic lumber yard in Houston that was next door to a place where I used to work and I says to the ole boy that I want some wood that won't rot. He says I gots some African Iron wood.... T...

Re: trailer recommendations

My Uncle Jeral in Alabama built it. He has been building these since he was a kid. His father passed it down to him. Built out of plywood (sides and bottom) and cypress chines. No frames in this either. It was always a real treat to watch him lay these out. This is the last one he built and she is 1...

Re: trailer recommendations

I suppose if they mess up the paint, (shouldn't go any deeper than messing up the paint as the hulls are glassed usually under ) all it would take would be to repaint the bottom and change back to carpet. Well that's a great point which I haven't taking in to consideration... I plan on changing out...

Say you're gunna build a 20 footer, then go on the web and find you a 20' Mastercraft or Nautiqe. They can be had for ...

Re: Morn'n

Thats a big boat for the choice of a tunnel which you loose performance with unless you need to shallow draft which your area sometimes requires for the skinny waters inshore. Well I grew up on the coast and we started put'n tunnels in shrimp boats years ago and I haven't seen where we loose power,...

Morn'n all, psychobilly here. <<<crazy redneck :-) I've been lurking around here for a while now. Been following a few builds and looking at builds past.
