I have been building the 16' McKenzie drift boat. I am in love with this project. I have just finished the side planking using a few scarfed joints in the process to complete the hull. After the bottom planking the plans say that my next step would be to fiberglass. I seems to me that I would want to complete the seat hull brace and a few other interior items that need to be fastened to the hull before I fiberglass. I would not want to fasten through the freshly glassed hull would I? Should the boat be righted to do these few things and then place back on the forms to glass? What are your thoughts?

Thanks so much for you time!

Aaron,

We would fasten the items to the hull prior to fiberglassing--turning it right side up and then back again to glass. Glad to hear you are thinking through the process...great question!
