2017 ACBS International Boat Show

Postby Roberta » Tue Sep 05, 2017 7:32 am

The ACBS International show is starting this week. Still time to register and show off your boat. Lots of water display room available. We have a Glen L Hercules, a Gentry, and of course, my Torpedo in the water in the Reef Point Marina. Visit the ACBS website for more information and the Glacier Lakes Facebook page for action during the show. If you aren't able to bring a boat, please plan on visiting the show this Friday and Saturday to view many outstanding boats, clubs and vendors.

Well the 2017 ACBS International Show is now in our past. It was a Great Show on a Great Lake. The pre-events include a tour of Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, a Fox River cruise, a Madison Chain of Lakes cruise, the Milwaukee River cruise, and the event itself at Reef Point Marina in Racine.

Three Glen L boats were present. My Torpedo, Craig's Belle Isle (FFRCOBRA), and Dean Wilson's Gentry. We all won awards for our boats. There was supposed to be a Hercules there, but it had prop shaft leaks and was not brought to the show.

I also won a beautiful hand painted scarf that spelled out ACBS GREAT LAKE FUN in nautical flag letters during the silent auction and made the high bid for the original oil painting used for the show poster.

It was a great show and if you didn't go, "YOU MISSED THE BOAT". Click on the Glacier Lakes Facebook page to see many photos taken at the show.

Our Glen L constituency at the ACBS International Show. WOW!!! Glen L is really making inroads into the Classic boat crowd. My Symposium went well and our boats are getting a lot of attention. Good Job Craig and Dean.

I was at the show and saw all three Glen L boats - Very Sharp! You all should be proud. I hope to take the plunge and build one day also.

Congratulations to our builders, Roberta, Dean and Craig on the well deserved awards! We are so proud of you all and my dad would have been very happy about this. Thank you for posting, Roberta...

Excellent examples of great designs built with fine craftsmanship! I hope I can uphold the tradition but the bar is set quite high... :D
