I agree, Carl. It will probably need some ballast weight anyway, so I will be building in some access points and places to add lead weights. I also do model RC aircraft. Did that before getting into full scale aircraft and recently got back into it with electric power. Rich and I have a small 24" Cub, a Freewing Pandora, and a Sensei highwinger that has the panic button like the little Cub. I also have a Great Planes little Toni that I will be flying once I get my thumbs loosened up again.

In retrospect one of the nicest compliment ever received on my boat building was from you at G4 you looked at my pics with much interest and said they were impressive, coming from the Queen, I look back now and think it must have been good. You are one busy lady all the of your builds are top tip top shelf. Can you make me a fishing lure signed by you so I have something
built by Roberta so I can show off by saying I know this lady who has built boats airplanes ...... Just love your works

The planes look great Roberta. I forgot to mention that my model building is restricted to the smaller scale non flying types. I forget sometimes that modeling means different things to different people. Most of what I have is at least 10 years old or older since I stepped away from the hobby prior to picking up the bug to build a boat. I've only recently decided to get back into it, primarily to give me something to do in the evenings when I can't work on the boat.

Here's an example of one I did in 2002.

Hi Roberta,
Coming along nicely. My question for you is are you going to lay out a bunch of model car tires alongside of the boat when you flip it over?

Since you all are discussing airplanes, before the boat, I built every 1/72 jet fighter, attack, bomber plane made. Really got into the camo using an airbrush. Funny how we all have similar interests. Below is a picture of an airplane my brother built from a kit. When discussing the boat build with him, I told him that if anything goes wrong, I can swim, but he can't fly.

Update on the Torpedo model. All the frames are set and the keel and harpin are set. Most side and bottom battens are on. The model is going together much like the full size boat. Been working on fairing before planking.

I wasn't sure about putting in the limbers or just tipping the boat upside down.   Not sure if I can find 1/6 scale bilge plugs either.

I suppose that the bilge pump could be a model and not actually be functioning. I'm sure you will have all sorts into it just like the full scale one.
