I have exchanged a few e-mails with the founder of Shepherd boat works grandson over the past several days, and was very surprised to learn that the founder never actually owned a boat of his own, and in fact none of his family has to this date owned a boat, just built them. The founder was born in 1889 and died in 1968. The Shepherd boat works opened in 1928. Sad, but when the busines was sold in 1958 the family kept none of the records and now the grandson is trying to piece the history back together and add such to the site. www.shepherdboats.com
Things like that happen, I have a personal friend that owned a very large sail boat loft, and he NEVER did own a boat, or even enjoyed being on one. I have heard before that a good way to destroy a hobby is to turn it into a full time business. COULD BE.
