So at G5, Sunday morning the Squirt wouldn't rev past idle and the choke had to be held to get it to run at all.

I got into it today and found that while I used Ethanol resistant fuel lines from the tank to the bulb, the last 2 feet from the bulb to the engine apparently was not. I took it off and a brown goo oozed out. It all formed in that last 2 feet of gas line.

So a carb cleaning and new line and it should be screaming along nicely.

I guess it could happen to anyone. My shortcut bit me on the backside.

I remember you saying that you hadnt put gas in the Squirt since the last Gathering, the gas seemed to burn fine otherwise. I wonder if the amount of rubber disposed of since ethanol has been introduced makes the enviromental benefit of ethanol a wash out???

For what it's worth someone just posted a web site with locations of stations that carry non-ethanol gasoline, might be worth a look, but a good heads up for those who don't think they need a special fuel line for ethanol additive fuel. Just goes to show that 'alcohol' is the 'enemy'.

I think the original idea was more for less dependency on foreign oil by blending with ethanol.

Ethanol also produces less BTU's and so you mileage goes down and power too.

Oh well,15% is right around the corner I'm afraid :x :(
