Go over to woodyboater.com and read the story that began on Monday. It is a scary and almost deadly scenario. I don't boat on that kind of water, but it made me think about the barges encountered on the TN River during the gatherings. I don't know what kind of bow wake or suction is created by a barge, but the freighter in the Woody Boater story is amazing. I will definitely brush up on my commercial shipping lane manners and stay away from those things.

There is some light barge traffic on the river but nothing of size or speed that would cause a problem for us, THANKFULLY

I have been on the Mississippi and had issues but not on this river.

Nevertheless, this is absolutely something we need to be aware of as small boaters. Thank you for the posting
