Tonight at dinner, my wife and I were talking about kayaking up in Maine. I mentioned how popular the SUPs have become and the coolest thing happened. She actually knew what it was and was in total agreement. She even said it would be fun to have one or two. That's like permission in my book. I said there are plans available and lots of youtube videos of people building them with 3-4 sheets of plywood and she still didn't object. The wheels are turning...but my back is also a little sore

Dave, are you using Okoume for yours or Meranti? I have only used Okoume but I know it's twice as expensive. If I were to buy enough for two SUPs, I could Meranti for the price of one done in Okoume.

Jeff - I am using okoume. And I totally agree with you. If the Admiral opens the door with a suggestion, run don't walk, as fast as you can right thru it.

The Admiral made the same comment to me. So I will be ordering some more material and build two matching SUPs

I believe I am going to share this project with the boy's ranch I am working with. I am anxious to show this to these teenage's that are challenged with life's trials and tribulations. I believe it could also be something could sink their energy's into with some pride and ownership. Cool stuff

Well, let's see. I am ready to stitch up after 2 nights on the project. Then Wednesday night became very long working at the church as the media director. Practice with the praise team and choir lasted a lot longer than expected.

Last night was a hoot. I went to a local auction of guns and brought home a haul. My "inventory" has grown substantially lately. Now Gertrude has family to back her up other than little KasillaKerry.

And tonight is opening night for NCAA games for University of Memphis. Gonna be some trouble on the floor for St. Louis.

And tomorrow I am heading down to Southern Mississippi to wed off my 57 year old cousin for the FIRST time. That is going to be another hoot. That would be a 1200 mile round trip for a 2 hour event.

So you will get your pics of the hull on Monday. I have to have this done by Thursday next week when I head to Maryland to bring home "Renewed Spirit" or is it "Spirit Renewed". Dang it, the Admiral cannot make up her mind. And that will add another 2500 miles to my every trusty FORD pickup which is now pushing 250K on the OD and hasn't complained one iota. (And noooooo- my FORD was not built in a Chevy plant). Gertrude hears some of ya'll snickering.

Well, I could not work last night due to a church meeting so I spent a couple of hours tonight. Couple more stitches and ready to glue up.

I am always amazed how these misc pieces when stitched come together so nicely to form a boat in short order. A true testament to the architects.

I've been waiting for this photo. It looks great! Are you going to give her a fancy transom and/or deck?

Sorry, it took so long. I only was able to work on it for about 6 hours over the last week with all the traveling and meetings.

I am going to complete the finish to match Midnight Cry. Call it Midnight II. or Mini Cry  I have been looking at how others have finished them and, yes, some are absolute works of art
