I was able to get the fins on this evening. Coming along fine now.

Jeff - Yes, I did get the 3mm ply from World Panel. When I ordered the fins and breather tube I decided to go ahead a buy a set of frames. I will build another one of these again. After buying these fins, I could have easily made them myself. I will make the next set.

It is just now a matter of getting the finishes on and will be ready to take her out.

The deck striping is now encapsulated with 2 thick coats of epoxy. I will wait until this weekend to fair it smooth and start the varnish treatment. The bottom is ready for paint.

I might make it on the water by July 4th. 10 minutes of work and wait a day. 10 minutes of work and wait a day. on and on and on. I am losing my hair.

graphite powder mix makes black epoxy. no bottom paint required, and it is compatable with epoxy repairs in the future

So, in the last 6 weeks, I lose my job, lose half my net worth and lose my mother. What do you do when you get knocked off a horse? You get back on and start riding again.

First coat of varnish went on like a charm. Perhaps I should have cleaned my workbench before I started but I am not as clean a worker as some of ya'll. I have a friend who does professional restorations and it is not uncommon for him to varnish standing in an inch of sawdust. He claims it is not what is in the air or on the floor that is the problem but more importantly what is on the surface and in your brush. That is what he is a stickler about. I am finding out if that is true  Or it could be that I am being lazy

What is it they say? All the bad stuff comes in three's? Things should be swinging back up for you Dave. Glad you can still spend some therapy time finishing up the SUP.
