I worked one the bolt gouge from my dock incident.

The damage is about 1/2"x 3" a little more than 1/16" deep.
The middle picture is epoxy only.
The top has saw dust with epoxy.

Bill,

Will a furniture scraper make a cleaner blend than the sand paper?
Don't know just throwing it out there. you should just thank heavens that it was Kens who was driving!

Another thought for feathered repairs! After applying the final resin coat cover with a piece of plastic wrap, kitchen style, cover that with a magazine and cover that with some serious weight like a thick phone book or a piece of plywood.

It's a little difficult to get that book to stay on the side of the boat.

When it's down smooth, sanded or scraped or both, a couple of coats of clear PU should take care of it.

Duct tape works great. Plastic wrap such as viscreen also sticks to wet epoxy too. just press it on and leave it. You may get some krinkles if heat is created. So keep an eye on it and smoothe it out with a squeeze.

I hate to say it, "Steve was right". The scraper was just the ticket.

I missed on the color. But, it came out very smooth.

OK! OK!

This is without clearcoat. The filler is a little redder after coating. I got away Monday without a final picture.

I ended up not going with the water canon (this year). Next year I will make the water guns. I heard before the parade that if you so much as show a squirt gun be ready because the water balloons will come flying by the hundreds. It is a pretty wild and rowdy parade at times!! I had girls running bloody marys out to the float at 9AM....I will try to get a pic posted!

Next year I am goin to let em have it...but I will be ready in my Gortons fisherman suit !1!
