I have a lot of filleting to do at the base of the cabin, bulwarks, and deck sides.
I decided to try a different approach than the finger method.
I bought a cheap plastic tube of latex caulk ,emptied the tube, and cleaned it with soap and warm water. I cut the tip deep at about 45 deg. and cut the tube in half to make it easier to fill and clean.
Then filled it with filleting compound ( I call it peanut butter ) and was able to do the whole works in about 5 minutes.
It does a nice job with no waste and no mess. Mission accomplished.
Doug

You can also buy the empty caulking tubes at specialty marine places.
