I want to build the flats flyer so badly I can taste it but life keeps getting in the way! Sorry, just had to get that off my chest!

Steve

PS....no I don't want to talk about the chicken coop...or the sixteen stupid chickens for that matter! (They were so freaking cute when they were small!)

Go to a scheduling class and learn to divide your day according to priorties and amount of time needed to accomplish the task in a reasonable amount of time. Well it seems the 2x4 chicken wire coup is priority #1 so it is first on the list but the boat will take longer to build. Thus the boat needs more time allocated. Thus begin the day with the chicken coop and allocate 1 minute (just enough time to pick up the saw and get it plugged in). Ooops time has run out. Time to get to the second thing on the agenda. Now that the saw is still in your hand you might as well get started. 8 hours later you are done for the day and start again tomorrow. Sounds like a plan to me. Oh, about those cute little things running around. Well, you can mark that off your list of things to do now. Your neighbor unbeknownst to you has a pet falcon and he wanted to play yesterday. So your boat has now moved up the list.

Sounds like a plan to me.

But in all honesty- if I could I would build a coop as well but I have neighbors that would frown on it. But I do love the fresh eggs.

Remember the Chicken Mantra!
Don't let them grow over Six weeks. They get tough after Six weeks and one more day!

I will try to get a picture tomorrow. I think I went a bit overboard on the coop. The Yankee in me has a hard time building a "simple" coop. My daughter wants to give the chicken her bedroom and keep the coop for herself!!

I think I might sneak that flats flyer onto a card somewhere though...I could build the frames along with the coop and be part way there before anyone knew it!

Leaky, I feel for ya, brother.

Nasty birds. the DA insisted on abusing me with those bloody buzzards. It took 2 years for the eagles and owls to finally put an end to my misery.

Then she came home with a box of goslings.

Count yourself lucky it's only chickens. It could be so much worse. You know that saying about crap, and geese? Well, it's based in actual fact-and by no means an exaggeration. You could be stuck with a couple dozen indestructible self-propelled crap-expulsion units.

Caber - I had a pond behind my home in TN. Each year a pair of Canada geese would nest and hatch out bunch of goslings. Each year the owls, hawks and raccoons would feast for a week and no more goslings. One year I told the Admiral I would catch them when they hatch out and raise them up myself. I caught eight. Four got out and went off with the parents who immediately lost them. An owl got one of mine but I managed to raise up 3 to adulthood.

But by the time they flew off, I had no grass left around the pond and nothing but a pile of crap. They ate everything and even pulled up the grass roots. Nothing left but dirt and crap. I absolutely agree - they are nothing but crap machines

The only thing good for a goose is the dinner table. And then I have to hold my nose at times.

Ducks are about as Poopy as Geese. However Ducks will go through your Garden and eat every bug they spot. And they have good eyes.
One year of raising Ducks was good enough for me. I went back to Chickens n' Rabbits.
