We had a bunch of Dead Baby Chicks so I tried them for Cats.
Oddest thing you ever saw. The little baby fish ate all the feathers off the little Chicks. No Cat's came along though.
Just Skin without feathers on the Hook.

My best for Cats is slices of Shad.
Livers n' Stink Baits haven't been good producers.

 unfortunately they have bans on certain baits here in Utah No live minnows allowed and stuff like that. We used live creek chubs in our ponds in Ohio even if they got off the hook the bass would eat them before they became a problem. 8) corn is not allowed either and trout loves it but it will kill them, Kibble (dog food) works well on trout also it is what we used to feed the trout on the trout farm. When we do use lure we use flat fish that are frog like and dipped in anise alcohol ( sambucia Italian whiskey) trout also like the taste of it.

I tried crawdads for catfish once, the cats just killed them, and broke the claws off.

Down in south Georgia it can be difficult to land a catfish..........get one on the hook and a alligator might try to take it away.........

Lowka where you live sounds like the 'Police' have taken over the sport of fishing.

In Washington State we fly Fishermen disdained the guys who used Corn to catch Rainbow.
I used a Shrimp fly that came in several styles and sizes that worked almost all the time.

Salmon fishing I used Herring. Cut or whole. I did try lures, but always reverted to the ever successful Herring.
Down here I never used Minnows or Mud Bugs and rarely used worms.

A friend in Louisiana got me using flies to catch Bream. What fun that was :D Finding the Bream was the only problem there.
In his little lakes he could catch Crappie on a Fly, but not me. I'm in the same boat, using the same fly and dropping it right where he dropped his, and nothing came for my fly.

In Washington state, when the fish sorta quit biting in the heat of August, we'd try a little Anise oil on the flies. It worked to a fare-thee-well. It didn't work at all in the Cold water lakes of Western Washington though.
Fishing was so good in AK I never used anything but Herring in the Salt water and flies in Fresh water.

 sorry Gale but we have gotten a influx from people the state of California here and they are starting the same stuff they did there like build up the side of the mountains causing mud slides and fires. the hunting and fishing was over did by the influx of people and people using live bait brought in from other places have caused problems with the native fish. we don't want snake heads and other invasive fish taking over or lakes and rivers so they make strict laws about what can be done and what can not be. example some body introduced white bass to a couple of lakes they breed real quick and push out the native fish so they made the rule if you catch one you must kill it and not release it. some the fish here are rare like cut throat trout and the Cisco and other fish. also they don't want mithfol and zebra mussels here. there are some lakes that have a problem they want to keep contained call rolling fish disease it isn't harmful to humans but it effect fish real bad. the rules was made for a reason I may not like some of them but I used to work for State parks and rec here in Utah and have a good idea why they make them. Also in Ohio our farm is a wild life release point and part of are farm was planted to feed wild animals to help them thrive. I love to hunt and fish but to keep the populations healthy you have to have controls of the hunting and fishing man is greedy and left to there own will wipe out species. so better controls now and have the animals and fish in latter days than over fish or introduce fish and other harmful creatures to the habitat. :!: I am getting of the soap box now please don't through bricks it just my 2 cents worth
