Hope this link works. This is the Sherwood Queen in construction. It is now glassed and I am finishing off coating it with epoxy. Hope the link works.

Works for me. I like your building shelter, I have to build something similar to construct a 21' hull and was wondering if there was something suitable I could buy.
There's a local nursery (plants) that closed down a couple of years ago and I noticed some aluminium polytunnel frames still standing there, there's a new business on the site now and I may ask if I could help them out by clearing the old frames away, add a big white tarpaulin and I'd have a huge temporary shed.

Graham. I got this one on Ebay delivered to my door for $250. They also have a web site.

It is a big help to stay out of the Florida sun and afternoon showers.

Fred, vary nice build you got going. What type woods and ply are you using, it looks clean? Are you using epoxy for glue?

Also, where's all the 1gal. milk jugs filled with water? Off to the side somewhere with hooks at the ready? It is that time of year, here in Florida. :)

The Sherwood Queen will make for a good design here in Florida, inner and outer waters. Keep us posted, great pic's.

Thank ya all for the kind words. John, the ply is what they call Marine Tech, I bought it at LENCO in Englewood Fl. The frames are southern yellow pine. I am using mostly epoxy glue but also some Gorilla glue along with 500 silicone bronze screws. I am not that happy with the marine tech, it is supposed to be marine quality but it has patches and some voids, which I filled with epoxy of course. The marine tech is Doug Fir and the surface is not smooth it is quite wavy and would take a lot of filler for a perfect paint job. This will be a knock around boat so I am not worried about the ripples. I used Doug Fir on the Tubby Tug and it smoothed out good with tons of sanding and epoxy. I will look for better marine ply on the "NEXT" boat. I will get some close up pics so you can see what I mean about the ripples. I am new at this so I am still in a sharp learning curve.

Learning curve...it's always a cut above the "Learning circle"...that's when your curve is so sharp you end up right back where you started !!

Steve

Been there, done that !

Yup! Saw that Chair in your pic's, didn't see the Cooler thou:roll:

Maybe we should talk with Dave and see if he would move these threads to the Power Boat section. It's rightful place.

I'd like to see some pic's of that Marine Tech, post them over in the Wood and Ply section. Give your thoughts, details of such, so others will know what to expect when thinking of using such. Sorry to hear your findings. Is your build going to live on a trialer? Boats built with ply that has known viods, are better off living on a trialer than at a slip/dock.

Well John first things first!! The cooler is on the lanai that is about 12' from the boat. I don't want anyone to get the wrong opinion!!! :-) If Dave wants to move the threads it is fine with me. The "Queen" will be living on the trailer and under cover while I have her. I plan to put her up for sale along with the Tubby Tug in order to recoup some funds to start another build. I updated my pics and have a close up of the marine tech. The lumpy parts are the ply and not my glass work. I will make a post under plywood about the product and state my opinions. But again I am new to boat building so my opinions are not necessarily accurate.

John, Is Mount Dora really an antique meca??????? We collect them and were thinking about coming up there.

VARY!!
Downtown=75% Antique Shops, 25% Realtors, Banks, Restaurants, 1(vary old) Mega Motel, 1 Marina (off Lake Dora) and a Town Park with boat ramp/docks. Bring your walking shoes and a fat wallet (a vary spend'y town). I don't know about no mountain but, it is hill'y. You can buy one of many stickers saying, I Climbed Mount Dora

I do see what your talking with the ply. Your right, it would take a lot of fairing, for sure. The inner vaneers don't look right, for a marine ply either. Nothing against your choice, just what they'er calling it. I'll talk more of it in Wood and Ply section.

Just the same, your build and workmanship is looking good.
