Glen-L Newsletter & Builder Galleries

Postby Gayle Brantuk » Fri Mar 22, 2013 3:59 pm

Note: I've edited this post as well as removed some of my past Newsletter links because none of them are valid anymore since we changed our email providers...

Mr. Hot Rod recommended to me a while back that we post updates to our Galleries on the Forum.

You see, we have subscriber list that receives our weekly "Build Your Dream Boat" series of emails as well as a weekly Friday Newsletter with current articles posted on the Glen-L blog site, videos as well as new Galleries that are posted to our site. I'd really like to have you sign up to receive our Newsletter which you can do on our home page--we'll even send you our free "Guide to Building Your Own Boat" as a thank you for signing up.
http://www.glen-l.com/

But, even if you aren't signed up, we do love our Forum members so I'll start posting a link to our most recent Newsletters.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply Gayle, I got a new password and can get in to the galleries but can't seem to be able to edit my one, could it be because it was set up by John B ?
Thanks again.

Hi Gayle,

Quick question - is there a way to save (download) photos that you have posted in the Builder Galleries. In the archives we can just right click and "save image" but that doesn't work on the new gallery system. Haven't been able to figure it out - may just be missing the obvious.

Ray,

Right click on the small picture and open in a new window. You can then right click on that image and save it.

That is what I can't get it to do. For example, when I go to this page and click on the thumbnail the larger photo opens but a right click on it gets no response. http://boatbuilders.glen-l.com/bo-jest-design/?album=7&gallery=5 I assume this is a "flash" coded item or something similar. Just wanting to see if there is a way to download the individual photo.

Sorry Ray,

I think you misunderstood me. Right click on the thumbnail and choose "Open IN New Window". When that window opens, then you can do the normal right click and save image that you are used to.

I tested this again just before posting this and it works for me using Windows 7 and the Chrome browser. I am assuming that it will work similarly in Firefox or Internet Explorer. If you're using a MAC, I am not sure what the approach is.

Sometimes I am a little slow! Didn't try right clicking on the thumbnail - was just looking on the photo after it opened.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Carl, I appreciate the help!

Gayle

I haven't brought up the article about "25 Things to Do" in along time. Sometimes I need a reminder also.
