Good idea Bill " Things to do with your Building Form" Mine became a mockup of the hull to work out the prop shaft angle and the space between the prop and rudder.

It was also my engine stand for a while and helped with lining up the engine and the clearance of the bell housing and oil pan.

Fergal, that's a nice transom shot on the wall. The engine is nice too.

I built boxes.

Image

The pine boxes were the build form. Used 2x10s, planed them to around 5/8", got out the dovetail jig, made a cooler and a couple toolboxes for the boat, and a few sea chests for around the house. I planned ahead using the wider lumber, and was careful about screw placement for crossmembers.

Thanks, but I cheated. I used a dovetail jig and router.

Do you see a great Idea for a childs bedroom Chest of Drawers in this photo?
Make a set of Drawers, in a Spiral setting. The Drawers would all open in different directions with space behind for the 'stuff' the kids throw into a corner.
What a great idea he just created!!!

Cut build form down to make engine stand, will put dummy stringers in to make engine mounts and set up. if I build another boat I will
just weld it back together again....
