After spending yesterday looking for Old's Cool onboard the stunning barge Hawthorn http://www.bargehawthorn.info/ in the very pleasant company of Giles & Jill we eventually came across these images on the sonar, we were so sure this was her that we called out a diver to confirm.

Its odd that heavy things don't sink straight down.Any currents in that lake ? A friend lost a little outboard motor on one of the creeks around here and it hasn't been found yet.I lost a rod and reel off of dock and didn't find it til next summer.(water is color of dark tea.)Suppose all the oil in motor is leaked out by now so no oil slick to look for.

Fergal

I know this is no help. But, it kills me each time I see this. I have a 3D scanner and I'd be out trying to help. But, no place to fill-up between here and there. I still think she can be salvaged at this point.

Best of luck.

I'm so very sorry to hear of the loss of such a beautiful vessel. Had watched videos of her when I was contemplating building my first boat. An inspiration, I don't know the builder personally, but I feel his love for his boat and his loss.
