My wife has left us and is at peace

Post by jamundsen » Fri Jan 15, 2016 7:00 pm

Madelynn left us yesterday. Her pain and suffering is over. She supported me in my boat building and airplane flying. She said if she was going to ride in it then it had to have a top. So I ordered a custom Bimini. She never got to ride in it. As many of you know I have Devesh's boat that he bought from Roberta. My son has been taking my grandson out in it and making boat videos for my wife. She loved them. She was only able to get to two Gatherings. One at Guntersville and the first one at Hales Bar. That's why I always got cabin 3. In case she could come. She couldn't walk far. I miss her terribly.

OMG! I had no idea!!

I am so sorry for this. I wish you had said something sooner. We could have offered much more at least in the way of moral support if nothing else. Or maybe you did say something and I just completely missed it. Again, I'm so sorry.

John

I'm very sorry for your loss. But, I know there is life on the other side. She is not in pain now. We have been touched several times from the other side. The message is usually, "I'm alright, There was nothing you could do." And, it's a happy feeling.

Peace.

Grief is a normal reaction to loss, John. There is nothing wrong if your grief is obvious to others. Please try not to let anyone, or society in general, force you into some sort of mold as to how you think you should react to this tragedy. Your restored mental health is more important.

We've all gotten to know you on this forum and at the Gatherings. You are among friends here. I think that I'm safe in saying that there is a lot of compassion here with all of these people. If there is ANYTHING we can do to help you shoulder your grief, please do not hesitate.

I SO hate death! I didn't even know your wife and I'm crying.

I can think of nothing worse, but SpecialK's poem to me, seems perfect. Thoughts are with you and your family.

Life is like a book, and a book has many chapters and stories.
There is a chapter about yourself growing up as a kid, another chapter about high school,
then chapter about teenager dating,
and a chapter about married life, and that chapter just closed.
Life is still going forward, as well as more chapter of life to come along.

Thank you all
My office manager read specialk post to all today at our Celebration of Life at the airport. Madelynn wanted a party instead of a funeral. My son and I took all the grandkids for a ride in the Stearman. Thanks for all your kind words and prayers.

John, Thinking of you guys. I was surprised to hear too but I believe she is truly in a better place. Im glad you posted and to hear your family found some peace with the poem specialk posted. I'm sure your wife will be riding by your side everytime you put the bimini top she wanted up.
