Madison, WI Boat Show

Post by Roberta »

This weekend is the Madison show. Today we did the chain of lakes cruise for lunch at the Edgewater Hotel on Lake Mendota. It was up lake Wabesa, through the canal to Lake Winona, then the Tenney lock to Lake Mendota. Lunch was great. A fish boil at Christy's landing for supper.

Another great weekend for boating and the Madison Area Antique and Classic Boat Show. Yesterday was the cruise through the Madison Chain of Lakes for lunch and the fish boil at Christies Landing. We had a large crowd of boat owners and spectators. There were about 50 boats on water and land display. I was moored out on the end of one of the piers, so I could more easily get in and out of the Torpedo (knee not quite up to full strength yet) and it afforded me the opportunity to give friend a ride. It sure broke up the long hot day to go buzzing around the lake and show The Glen L off.

Last year I was awarded Best of Show. This year I was awarded Best Inboard. Very honorable for being in competition with a lot of beautiful Chris Crafts, Streblows, Century's, and other fine boats. My biggest reward was hearing all the compliments about the Glen L. She was very well liked by all who saw her. I am so proud that I was able to build her. Thank you, Rich, for believing in me. Thank you Glen for a Great design.

Here is a pic of some of last years awards from ACBS and the ACBS Presidents Cup I received along with the Best Inboard award. My new curio is filling up fast.
