Roberta that is looking really great! Looks just like the real thing!
I used to have a radio control boat. It had some sort of sealing foam to keep water out of the hatch area. Water seems to get into r/c boats easily.

Thanks, Jim!! It's way easier to work on. Sanding and fairing is a lot easier, too.

Now that I think about it, it also had a clear plastic box with sealing tape for all of the radio stuff. The on/off switch was a push/pull switch mounted in the lid of the box. The boat was a tunnel cat hull with an 11cc outboard motor.

Coincidentally, I was just going to post something about a model I am going to be building of my boat.

:)

It will be posted shortly under my build thread.

Sounds great, Carl. It's a lot of fun recreating your dream boat in small scale. A lot easier, too.

Busy Spring since being back in Wisconsin after missing much of the winter in Scottsdale. It has been a long winter and as someone said "it's the 95th of January". Between getting ready for a new boat event in Green Bay and organizing things for some new granite counter tops in my kitchen, I have managed to set some time aside for the little Torpedo.

I finished the carlings and attached the upper sub decking. Getting ready to cut the hatch out so I can continue installing the motor and other gear. I have mounted the prop strut and rudder stuffing box. The prop shaft hole was drilled and shaped. I am waiting for a longer shaft log to install in the hole. It has some bushing in it to support the prop shaft. I will install the lower sub decking and cowling later.

My plan is to paint the whole thing white and use a 1/64" iron on wood veneer to trim the decks. That way the white will show through as the caulking and I will then clear finish the deck boards. We'll see.

Thanks, Chug!! When you get older and more arthritic, building small things is still fun and easier on the bod.
