Good point Bill,
I was thinking about this as well.
There would be a lot of smaller parts I could start off with.
Roberta's instructions are second to none, if I go through them I can probably identify them.

Thanks for the tip,

Cheers Marco

Wow!! It's been such a busy winter. All the work on the trailer and refreshing the Torpedo has kept me busy, besides all my other duties and a month in Scottsdale.

Work slowed on the big Torpedo with waiting for epoxy coats to cure before top coating, so I decided it was time to get back to the little one. After shooting some white on the hull, I started the deck planking. The hatch is planked and stained. The cover boards and king plank were installed. The iron on mahogany material is working well. Somewhat fragile, though.

Here are some pictures of work to date and a shot of the big hatch ready for the finishing.

Nice Roberta, both the big guy and the little one! When you get back out to the shows later this year (hopefully) , you can display the little one on your boat. That will be pretty cool.

Not sure the little girl will tow well.

Stained the cover boards and made a scoop for the hatch. Hopefully I'll get the rest of the decking on this week.

Thanks guys,

Finished the decking and stained it. I'll wait a week or so before applying an epoxy seal coat. Then the caulk lines will be applied before finishing coats. The white on the hull will be redone after the seal coat. In the meantime, I'll work on seats and fittings which will need to be hand made. Can't find suitable stuff.

It's been fun, but also frustrating trying to find scale parts. I will probably have to make them or skip some.

Chug, use your plans and scale up or down.

you could always draw them up in cad and have them 3d printed/ cnc. hey its an excuse to buy more tools

I recently picked up a 3d printer. the learning curve was not that bad, but i had lots of cad exp. i have been building parts for an aquarium filter that would normally have to be made out of a solid block of delrin. i just wish it was faster, some of the parts are taking over a day to print. still fun.
