Ski Tow

Postby woodruff » Tue Nov 09, 2004 1:02 am

Finally got the Ski Tow on the water. We have actually taken her out twice. I am in the process of re-installing the cylinder head on the old 40hp Evinrude Lark III. The compression valves were gunked up enough to cause a good compression leak and this is now fixed. The fuel and electrical issue is fixed. Our first float and engine check got us a grand total of 8mph out of the engine. Running on one cylinder that day. Still ran cool. Got the electrics fixed and took her out again and got 16mph. Still ran cool. Now running on both cylinders but with a good compression leak in the top cylinder. Should be ready in a week to try again. Here is a link of all my pic's so far. Don't have any pic's from the second engine check. Enjoy. Will post more as they come.

Thanks all for your kind help and input that allowed me to get this far.

Pete
