Wow, that will be a very sweet day for me too. Congrats. How bad was the ordeal? (or how easy?)
Some mornings it just doesn't seem worth it to gnaw through the leather straps.

So far, easy.

Contact the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources. They send you a form. Name, address & phone number. Boat material, length, engine type & Engine serial no. and trailer serial number.

Check for Marine Police inspection $25.00.

John K said the inspection is mostly to be sure it's not stolen.

Now, I wait on the state.

Excellent to hear!!

I am in the same boat you are, pun intended.

I am waiting for a call from the DWF inspector so we can set up a time. I am to have ALL receipts for materials purchased for the boat so he/she can verify that I have paid LA sales tax (9%) on all materials. Unfortunately I have misplaced some of the internet orders I placed. I have been going to Home Depot and getting little things in the hopes that the volume of receipts may lead to overlooking the fact that one or two are missing.

Just a quick story on the efficiency of the great state of louisiana. I downloaded the forms and sent them it. I get a letter about a week later with a phone number that I have to call. I call and call but never get an answer. finally I google the number and get an email address for the guy in charge of this area. I shoot him an email and get a phone call about an hour later. I explain that I have been trying to call and keep getting no answer. When I tell the lady the number I have been calling she replies

"Oh honey, that number was disconnected weeks ago!"

Oh well, onward and upward

Tell them the items you don't have receipts for were items that friends gave you or you had laying around if questioned. Are used parts subject to tax too?

Al is alot easier than most states. They could care less if you stoled the material or made the boat from popsycle sticks.

The local person told me that the most often stolen boats are wood and pontoons.

Congratulations Bill!
Man am I happy I don't need to do that stuff out here.

It's about time for the Mrs. to put the first dent into your boat with the Champaign bottle!
It's all down the ramp from there.

Aloha,

Warren,

When my wife asks you, I built the "Rosekey G." For her too.

She actually likes the boat, just not the time i spend working on it.
I told her she "Couldn't be jealous, It's named for You."
So far, that's not working.
