I just hit the same milestone!

Actually, in Canada, we don't need a HIN any more for home built boats, so I skipped right to the "Pleasure Craft License" Application.

It was presented in person, and handled while I waited. It required a notarized declaration that I built the boat. There was no charge from the Govt.

My boat is now officially known as "ON1427637".

We are legal!
Bruce.

Perhaps you fellas could trailer you're boats; head up to visit Bruce's new boat, and license you're boats in Canada. Sounds allot easier. And you'd get to drool over Bruce's boat and Drink Canadian Beer.

Update.

Alabama Marine Police called last Friday and Saturday to come check the boat. :) Two weeks, not bad for the state. Unfortunately, I was out of town.

Their going to try to come this Saturday. That will work.

I did ask them to expedite it. I told them, I was hoping for a July 5 launch.

The officer even mention that when I talked with him.

Wow, and I thought you were just "Somebody" to us folks on the forum.
Who knew you had celebrity with the police too.

Well let's see the ready for the water pics already! I'm sooo excited for you!

If my engine ever gets off the dock in Majuro, I'll be about 3 months behind you- give or take; got to go with what the wallet and Momma will allow.
