How to make an avitar?

Post by Escargot18 » Sun Mar 15, 2009 1:00 pm

I’m kind of a rookie about some of this computer stuff. How can I make an avitar from a photo of my boat. All of the pictures I have now are way bigger than 200 X 200 pixels. Is there a program that shrinks pictures?
Thanks,
John

What I did was to "crop" a small section from a larger photo.

I am sure that there is software that can "reduce" the resolution of a full photo. I just don't know what it is.

Do you have "Microsoft Picture Office Picture Manager"? You can resize pictures there.

Here is a free web site that will do it for you.

You dont even need any extra software. I did mine in Windows XP. First I cropped to as small as I could, then I did a 'resize' to make it smaller.
Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!

Thanks to all.

First I used the shrink website and the used Picture Manager to crop the result. It took several tries to get it down to 6K.

Hahaha, those are a couple of body parts bent over his boat. He won "best legs" at the last Gathering. That's what is showing BELOW his boat. I'm not sure what that part is ABOVE the boat in the picture.... :?

Speaking of avatars...those couple of sheep there...reminds me of a joke...ummmmm, maybe another time...

Put less politely, it is my ass, sticking up in the air.

I am kneeling on the deck with my head down in the engine hatch. The thing you see in the foreground is the open hatch cover.

For me, there were two themes to the Gathering this year...

1) I won "Best Legs" (I think because I wore shorts all weekend, while my southern friends were hypothermic because it had dropped below 70)

2) My engine/tranny proved that they were not up to the task, so I spent a lot of time in there. (I think at that point, I was working to fix a fuel leak)

So that picture sums it up.
Bruce.

I'm glad you explained it.

I thought you ran track and that was your start coming out of the blocks. :?

I was starting to get worried for the sheep!
Some plan to stroll through Saint Peter's Gates, I plan to go through them at 150mph... backwards... in a screaming ball of flame, with a glimmer belt wrapped around my head, and a NOx button in my hand.
