I am thinking of building a Popular Mechanics minimost. This will be my first boat build and would like any advice available from those that have built it. Things like

Problems during construction
Things you changed
Steering gear used.

cheers

Barry

You should consider the TNT, it has the same performance as the Minimost. Given the many builders of the TNT you may find more support and information available during your project.

Just a thought.

Thanks Gord

I was thinking that the MiniMost would be easier to build as it is quite simple in construction. Even the Tiny Titan looks more complicated.
Also I only have a 9.9 Merc for power which may not be enough for the TNT.

The Minimost and the TNT are very similar to build, I think the TNT might be the easier. A 9.9hp is small for either boat.

A great alternative would be the MiniMax. My son and I built one last spring and it was extremely easy to construct. We have a 15Hp Merc, but a 9.9 would be very suitable. We also have a TNT with a 25hp Merc, and the MinMax goes faster.
