I guess I'm leaning towards the stapler. Mainly because of the ability to shoot the shorter fasteners. I had good luck stapling the veneer on the Zip with metal staples, but it was a PITA pulling them out. The Raptors will sand off.

My dad built a boat in 1960 these are monal nails left over ,not even sure what monal is must be some kind of stainless. they are just as
shiny as the day that he bought them I found them in a old tobacco tin now in a plastic container...

Peter,

Those are "Monel" , an alloy with lots of zinc and some copper, very hard, heat resistant and very resistant to corrosion.
Costs more than stainless and very hard to find (at least where i live)
