Metal staples for Omer 81P

Postby Tony Hain » Fri Jul 11, 2014 2:26 pm

Hi,
Can you get metal staples for the Omer 81P (Listed in Glen-L catalogue) or is it only designed for Polymer staples? Hence the P.
I'm up to the final planking layer of mahogany and although up to now I've used the polymer staples and sanded off the crown leaving the legs in the timber, on the final I'd rather use metal staples and pull them afterwards.
None of the suppliers seem to carry 19 gauge staples and when I did a search of the gun on the internet the only mention is of polymer staples. I really don't want to buy a separate gun for metal staples.
Hope someone can help with a source of staples.

:? I am pretty sure the guns are meant to only shoot the plastic staples

Thanks Lowka,
I'm starting to come to that conclusion too. Can get one new from chain hardware for $60.00, which isn't too bad, but would have preferred to use the one I've got than buy another one.

 get ready for the feed back get one from Harbor Freight  there air equipment is not the best but they do work  I own several air nailers and staple guns from them. you have to keep them well oiled and may have to adjust the air pressure to the gun.  opps my bad you may not have them there.

Rod
We have the same type of store called Bunnings over here. I'll bite the bullet and get the gun.
