Mahogany Caulk

Postby Jimbob » Sat Apr 28, 2018 6:52 pm

I tried a mahogany colored caulk today when I attached my spray rails to the the hull. It was a perfect match for the interlux mahogany stain that I used. I would recommend highly.

Jim
Would you recommend this product to fill any gaps in my side planking as opposed to epoxy with wood flour to color it?

Matt,
I wouldn't use the caulk. I would use famowood wood filler (mahogany) instead. I gouged the side of my hull, when I was shaping the coverboards with a planer. Was planing to do an inlay, but decided to try the wood filler instead. It's easy to shape and took the stain well. You can't see where the damaged area was now. Good practice for any damage in the future.

The gouge was on the side, under the vent. Little more that 1/16" deep, and about 10" long.
