Can anyone tell me if it's o.k to put another coat of supermarine 1000 paint after sanding prior coat to 1000. Was going to buff the paint, but ended up sanding thru in a few spots and thought I'd recoat. The finish is very smooth but not nearly the high gloss that the paint cures to. I know they say the paint should be scuffed up for adhesion, but it seems ashame to sand my 1000 grit finish back down to 500 or 320.

I never sanded more than 320 with the SM1000 so I dont know. Maybe you could test a small section, like the transom, let it cure and test the strength of the bond. It might take less time to just rough up and re-apply though.
