Postby Yakima » Fri Mar 03, 2017 5:30 pm

any recommendations for tape to use in painting the bottom of the boat? I have the pant, etc just cant seem to find a reliable tape that will stick well and give me a good edge...suggestions?

For a clean edge 3m fine line works well.

If you don't have an auto paint store around, Big Orange sells the Scotch #2080EL Edge Lock tape (it is the blue tape with orange on the packaging/tape). Burnish it down good with a plastic spoon or mixing stick. I 've used this with automotive 2-part paints and it seals good and leave a thin edge.

I used 3m ultimate from big blue. Left a nice crisp line.
