I am building a Tango and have just finished the hull. I'll be fiberglassing in the next week or so and then painting. I probably will not finish the boat until next summer and at that point I may leave it in the water for the season. Could someone recommend a specific brand of primer and paint that would be appropriate to use?

use marine paints only... check out the Glen-L stuff...

put your favorite color bottom paint on the bottom and topsides paint on the topsides and you are ready to go.
as tempting as the prices are... stay away from the Home Depot paints and you will be fine

For primer I have had very good resolts with Interlux 2000E. Good on fiberglass and wood. Hold very good to surface and paints hold very good to it.
