Varnish Sags

Post by Chris Conger »

Hi All

What are some ideas to eliminate sags in varnish? I am going crazy up here. Someday I have to do a final coat!!!

Cheers
Chris

As far as I know varnish sags for one reason.... too thick of a coat.
Brush it out as thin as possible, many very thin coats should avoid sags :(

Agreed...sounds crazy but I usually thin it before applying to vertical surfaces so I can get the thinnest coat possible.

I told my wife we needed a three-car garage for my projects...she told me to ask her for permission next time before I buy a house.
