I had extra hands available tonight, so we started stitching the bottom halves together and installed the form. I already knew that because of the shape of the forward pieces that they would be a !%*^@ to bring together. So they will rest tonight and we will install more wire and a strap tomorrow and finish pulling them together. also we will add more wires to those 3 gaps along the keel and fix them. :D

Is the keel a fair line at the gaps Chip? If so just duct tape on the outside and fill the gaps with thickened.

Don't pull up & close the gaps if it destroys the fairness of the keel....but you knew that, sometimes it just needs to be said!!!

slow and steady wins everytime 8) this is the hardest stitch I have ever done :(. we closed the bottom at the bow from a 5" gap to a 1" gap tonight. Will let it rest over night and close up tomorrow. I hope. :D
Pug 011.jpg
we also finished cutting the side pieces and glued one side up tonight. :D

It sure looks helpless and inept, all naked like that
I get the idea a small boat like the Jon, might be done like that as well.
To get that 'v' like bottom to make it easier to row in a straight line.
Naw! I'd worry too much about the F/Glass giving way.

Thud, I was going to let this go, but I decided other wise  , yes she looks naked, but if you had read my last post carefully you would know that my side pieces were cut and being glued together, so give me a couple of days and she will have some skin :as far as being inept, are you referring to my build or glen's design? speaking of builds when are you finally going to build your Mr. John?????
