Wiring the Glen L Jubilee houseboat

Postby tdrumm » Wed Apr 23, 2014 12:37 pm

Hello

We are new to this forum. We are about halfway through building the Glen L Jubilee houseboat. Can anyone recommend a good reference source for wiring this boat? The Glen L plans so far have been top notch but do not include wiring our boat. Thanks!

I am building the Jubilee as well if you are on the wiring you are farther along than I am but I do know what reference books you need http://www.boatdesigns.com/Marine-Elect ... fo/12-489/
http://www.boatdesigns.com/Boatowners-M ... fo/12-490/
http://www.boatdesigns.com/Boatowners-I ... fo/12-459/ I know you can get all of these from Glen-l good luck and please post some pictures of your build this is one boat there is not much info posted. I am very glad to see another builder. also please list in your user panel the area you live in.

Hi Pam and Tom,

I can't recommend any references for the boat specifically but Nigel Calder has a book called "Boatowner's Mechanical And Electrical Manual" that is an excellent reference for building a wiring system. There are certainly other good references as well, but I am unfamiliar with them.

Ray Macke might also chime in here. He built his True Grit with quite a bit of electrical.

Good luck.

Try this USCG publication P16761.3 "Safety Standards for Backyard Boat Builders". Can also be found on the net in .pdf form but I do not have the URL.
