Electric Powered Pee Wee

Post by JCook » Thu Sep 07, 2017 6:55 pm

I just received my plans for the Pee Wee. This will be my first boat build. I'd like to build a Tahoe but thought I'd start with the Pee Wee.

This will be for my kids so I want to power it with electric. Trolling motors are too weak and too slow in my opinion.

I want an inboard system. I've thought of using a lower unit for a small outboard as well.

Has anyone used Golden Motors? These seem reasonably priced and would provide good torque and RPM for a small boat. I'm looking at the water cooled 3kw model.

thanks,

I stumbled accross this post. Did you ever build the Pee Wee? Did you ever get the information you asked about? To answer your original question, I would suggest the ED plans sold on the site. Then pack as big a motor as you think it needs and will still float and be safe for the intended. Be safe and successful...
Better, faster, cheaper. Only ever found 2 of the 3! (But still lookin.)
So many boats, ...so little time.
