Went driving around yesterday in rural areas. We found a few local Saw Mill operators for a possible wood supply. We have plenty of Willow Oak (Red Oak) on our property. We are going to Apalachacola tomorrow to se if we can find any old junk boats for possible hardware and used wood supply & ideas, possible a engine...

Red oak is the wrong wood see if you can find some white oak growing on your place red oak has tendency to rot. and not good boat wood. but it is your boat you can build with anything you want. also any wood you cut and process from your trees will have to be dried if air drying it can take years. kiln drying takes shorter time but you can over dry. my 2 cents worth
