Hi all together,

my name is Björn, I come from Lemwerder, it´s near Bremen in Germany.

In 2010, my wife had an wonderfull birthdaypresent for me, a plan for a Tahoe 19.

In 2011, after month of planing, I started to build my own boat :D .

I have expanded the boat to an length of 6.7 meter (about 21 feet), but I have expanded all demensions.

so geht das

I built the Tahoe at 20'-6". I wish I had scaled the whole thing up. But I'm very happy with the boat. I hope my pictures are of help to you.

Hi,

today I started to plank the second layer.
I fixed it with raptor nails, but it wasn´t really satisfactory.

How did you fix the second layer (without vakuum) and be ensure that the second layer lie on perfekt=

I would be thankful for each advice.

Thank you all....

Björn

Björn

My second was done with metal brads into the frames, batten, shear, chine and keel. Vacuum bagging is the best. But, I don't have the tools or experience to do it.

I spread out thickened epoxy with a plastic grout trowel (the one with the 1/8" V grooves). I then squished the plank down and moved it around until I was satisfied it was all the way down and tight. Then used the Raptor nails to secure it tight. But I used lots and lots of Raptor brads. I believe I have over 25,000 brads in my hull.
