Robert, My deck planks are 2 3/4" wide, 3/8" thick with 3/16" inch spacing between planks... I used thin screws with wide washers in the space between planks to hold them down while the epoxy set. I stained the deck and then put about 8 coats of varnish on the entire deck before I caulked the joints. I used 3m 4000 UV (black) to fill in the grooves. Then after that set up, I applied about 5 more coats of vanish over the deck boards and the caulking. I did not use any fiberglass cloth anywhere above the waterline. Your boat is really looking great.... Neel

Robert,

Very nice job on your boat. I am a local guy as well in Maple Valley (Hobart) and building the same boat you are. Can I ask you where you got the veneers from? Cross Cut has the Sapele I want to use, but I don't have the type of band saw need to cut them myself.
Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Vince X.

I bought enough veneer for two boats, and at this stage I would like to sell the extra.
It is from Certainly Wood in NY and it is extra thick African mahogany. Its thickness is 1/6th of an inch or 4mm.
I suggest you give me a call and we schedule a time to meet and you can see the boat and supplies.
Boat is in a location in DT Renton.

Robert
