Wow John,

Looking awesome! We're did you get those windshield brackets? I think that's what we want on our build as well.

I got these from Classic Marine in Sacramento and had to get them chromed. I posted a link to brackets currently on ebay (hope it works). I purchased vents and bow lights from wade plating. A bit pricey but very good quality. Wish I had bought these brackets as plater I used locally didn't do a great job and ended up spending about the same. Your build is looking fantastic! Will have to come visit you in Clear lake!

Thanks John,
Those on Ebay look ok, but don't have the classic handles like yours which we like better, and closer to stock on the Garwoods, Hackers and Chris Crafts of that era. I'll Keep cruising Ebay, and see if Classic Craft has any more, but they're only open on Wednesdays.

Yes, please come visit us anytime in Clear Lake. Bring that boat! We're there most weekends throughout the year.

Finally got last coat on deck last weekend and then did a final coat on top sides this weekend. Ready to go out for upholstery estimate this week. Video link below taken today. Started putting on some of the bling. Will do the rest when upholstery done.

Wondering if anyone has an idea what the upholstry/cushions may run to have a shop do it?? Beyond the seats, I'm doing the ceiling panels as well (side panels), engine box and crash pad all around.

sweet ride John- :D
the upholstery $$ will vary lots depending on what materials you are using naugahide or leather cushions or bench seat etc. so best to grab a few photos from a site like LaPointe's http://www.classicboat.com/boats.htm to show us. i decided to grab a commercial machine and do it myself. machine costs about 600 used. ...about the same for the materials to do the job. and a few good automotive/marine books on upholstery and a little practiec. ...most of the cost is in labor. i could be as fussy as i wanted. :D

I had one estimate from a high end custom upholstery shop for $1900. The boat has two seating cockpits. They both have full width bench type seats. In the aft area, the seat base is divided into three sections and the seat back into two. In the forward cockpit, the seat base and the seat back are divided in half. Each cockpit is about 60" wide and there are no "hidems" or any other upholstery work included in that estimate. The foam will be 2.5 to 3" thick and the marine vinyl material will have pleats sewn in. That may give you an idea of price, but I do plan on getting other estimates.

In 2007/8 (I forget)

My entire job - cushions and cockpit trim... was $2400.
Worth every penny - the guy who did it was outstanding...
I could never have done what he did myself..

Thanks guys for the replies. Taking the boat this Friday to upholstery shop up in Sacramento so this info helps. Probably will be higher as I am planning on getting ceiling panels upholstered as well.
