Everything went well, exept I need a exhaust filter on the pump! I had a huge cloud of oil vapor in the space I was doing this.

Live and learn.

I bet laying a towel or rag over the exhaust would be enough to capture the atomized oil. Be careful....that could affect your finishing. Anyway, looks great! I'm jealous!

Looks good!

Keep going in small sections until you get experience. It looks like you are using vacuum tape? I remember it being expensive and somewhat unnecessary. There is a window caulking you can get called Mortite at the big box stores.. it is essentially clay.

I would use the duct tape and then seal the leaks with the clay.

May want to give it a shot.
Keep posting pics!

Got a good deal on the sealing tape!, but as I get better I will subsitute.
The barrel shape is a little more difficult to get the sheeting tight because the shape
makes lots of little pleats.
I just found the exhaust filter on ebay for 50 bucks.
I'll get ready for the rest of the transom. The dacron dress lining and batting worked fine,
I had no problems!

Robert:

I did well vacuum baging with just duct tape.

I also put the vacuum pump outside to eliminate the cloud, cost me $0

I just reread this - you should not try to have the sheeting tight. Pleating the plastic is desirable. What you do not want to have is the plastic bridging any gaps.. it is much better to have pleats and and gaps get filled in. On curved areas this will become more noticeable.
