Today I set up my building frame and put the motor stringers on it. I'm concerned about it fitting in the garage.
The Belle Isle is 23'. The garage is 24' deep. It will fit but it's going to be tight.
The plans say that you can shorten the boat to 22'. That would be a better fit in the garage, but I'm wondering what the downside is to shortening the boat to 22'
If 23' is better for any reason I can make it work, but if there is no real difference in the two lengths, I may shorten it.

Thanks,
Craig

Craig

How big are you. Will you fit with 6" on each end or would 12" fit better? I don't think you'll see a lot of difference in the boats performance.

if you're going with the 3 cockpits as drawn, you would regret having cut down on the 23'

Thanks guys.
It dawned on me that my mockup was using the untrimmed stringers. I ended up cutting them to the correct length, mocked up the front couple frames and it fit just fine at the original 23'.

I'll post pictures in a few days. I got all the notched cut on the stringers and mounted the frames tonight. Not glued or fastened yet but it looks like a boat!
