Re: Tahoe 23
Congratulations Tony on your encouraging health news! And the boat looks absolutely amazing. Well done!
Re: Tahoe 23
G'day Tony
Great to hear you are back on all fours. With all of that latent enthusiasm your boat maybe ready next year and we can get back to planning a gathering.
Regards and all the best.

Well the flip took place yesterday with 4 people and 2 one ton chain blocks. All went really well with no damage or anyone hurt, so you can not ask for anything better than that. Just a couple of photots.

Congratulations on the flip, keep the boat as low as possible and build some good steps to get in and out as this could total a million times.

Re: Tahoe 23
Well today I start the rather tedious task of cleaning all of the epoxy glue dags on the inside of the hull. I tried to clean up as much as I could when L was gluing on the first layer of ply, but still a lot to clean up. Eventually after cleaning up the glue I will give the inside a final coat of epoxy and paint the inside of the hull white with a two pack. Also on the agenda is trimming the excess planking at the sheer line and fairing the top edge of the transom. I'll get a photo of the transom today.
PS. Yes I will need to make a set of stairs cause climbing up a step ladder and then stepping across might count as a workplace hazard!

Thanks Alan and Pete. Two photos of the top of the transom and side planking. Both of which need trimming and fairing.

May not be a stairway to heaven but should make getting in and out of the boat easier. Made this, this morning out of some left-over packing ply.

A 2x4 railing on one side might be a good idea. I don't know about you, but I seem to get more clumsy as the years go by.
Re: Tahoe 23
The rail is probably a good idea. My wife says I lack "spatial awareness".

10 reasons that come to mind why you'll be thankful for those steps,
wrong socket
wrong size terminal
dropped something, have to get magnet or fingers on stick
power lead not switched on
slotted not phillips
phillips not slotted
forgot spring washer
vacuum cleaner in vacuum cleaner out
forgot wire strippers
only had 4 pencils and 3 tape measures in the boat and can't find any of them.

Alan,
You do not know how true those words are, but again I guess you do! First day of working on the inside of the boat marking out deck battons and laying out a batton to check on fairing.Forgot pencil, clamps, square, file and as my mum would say "my head" because it wasn't screwed on. Even with the stairs, getting in and out of the boat can be a bother, but better than with no stairs.

Re: Tahoe 23
What helps with this is to get a small tool bag and keep the most commonly used tools (tape measure, pencil, knife, speed square, small level, tape, and flashlight) in it and in the boat. It doesn't eliminate the need to get in and out of the boat, but it does reduce the need (as long as you remember to put everything back in the bag).
