You're overthinking it. The boat is strong enough.

Thanks BIll. After all the work put into it, I guess it's becoming my baby now and don't want to see her get hurt.

Tracy .... Bill is 100% right... the flyer is so lite that I think rolling is over there is not that much pressure on the side... but I two wanted that little extra... so I just put a few 2x4 across the Boat to make sure...

Was at a neighbors last night for a party and he asked me how the build was going. Told him I was as far along as I could go until I got some folks together to flip her. He's a fireman and had about 10 of his buddies show up for the party. Next thing I knew, we were flipping her! We were all kinda feeling no pain, and I was afraid to look at her this morning, but looks like it was a pretty good job after all.
So without further ado, here's Ms. Enduring Freedom II.

Re: Flats Flyer Build in Orlando
I can't wait to get started on the topsides, and yes, my mind is racing. Fortunately for me, but unfortunately for my build, I received a promotion and will need to relocate to the Florida panhandle. Puts the build on hold until after the move. The good thing though is the LOML doesn't want the garage used for a woodworking shop and she's making me find a new home with either acreage or a separate shop/barn that I can use to finish the build and woodworking. This means no more working only when the sun shines or it's not raining!!! And it will always be in the shade. Gives me time to start buying hardware, and the promotion gives me more money to spend on it!!!

Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!

Re: Flats Flyer Build in Orlando

Kelly - No need for an outside power outlet, I wouldn't dare let Bev sleep outside in a tent, I'd let you two sleep inside the shop

Re: Flats Flyer Build in Orlando
Been a while since posting. My wife and I have relocated to Panama City and have finally got the house set up to her satisfaction. Was a PITA dealing with the builder but that's behind us now. Started building my "Boat Shed" a couple weeks ago. Got the slab finished last week, now I need to start framing this weekend, weather permitting. It should be adequate for a while, 24x30, to accommodate a future build.
As I'm not working on the FF right now, thought I'd post photos as the BS build continues.
