Ladies & Gents, this build was given the go ahead by my commanding General and love of my life :). Looking forward to starting to work on this. I have to say, im still not conviced on 650$ bronze silicone screws...maybe ill stick with stainless and double check my glassing job. Ive used stainless in restorations and ive seen homemade jon boats live 40+ years on cheap hardware. Besides, my boat wont see much saltwater unless it's the brackish type.

I still have to build a dining room table first, but hope to start soon. Happy Wife, Happy Life.

Well, ive about got the garage ready for the boat. Cleaned it out this weekend, epoxyed, clear coated the floors, and painted the walls. Wont be long until I can start on this beast.

Conrad,

Regarding the stainless steel fastenings, you may want to read this article by one of our boatbuilders on this subject:

That's an awesome shop, by the way!

Sorry guys,

been busy lately. Due to training and an upcoming deployment, I have to push this build until Dec.

Just placed the lumber order tonight, but I'm deploying again in May and TDY a couple times between. Hopefully I can get some done between times away.

Well a short notice deployment has kept me from starting this project, but the lumber is ready when I am. I've still got a couple months left. should be starting around Christmas time.
