That works but it looks like it took a lot out of you.

Don't forget "space for the stem". Each of the bottom timbers need to be shortened by 1/2 the stem thickness so they can form a pocket to receive the stem.

Does anyone see an issue I may have with where my keel is in reference to the frame? I have verified multiple times that the The breast hook is 23 3/4 inch from the breasthook to the setup level on the motor stringer as the plans call for. I have a piece of wood that is simulating the 1 1/2 inch keel just to see how it will line up.

When I done mine I cut both sides of the frame away so it was flush with the cutout if the keel and shapes to frame.

Hope it makes sense, was a few years ago for me now.

Thanks everyone! After getting the reassurance I went ahead and epoxied the stem to frame 6. Tomorrow I’ll epoxy frame 7 to the stem and start cutting the braces that attach the frames to the stringers. Beings it the first time I’ve ever built a boat or anything of this magnitude I’m Feeling pretty good about the build so far. This forum is awesome to have in my tool belt. Thanks again! I’ll keep updates coming and without question, more questions to come.

The plans say “although not shown attached a doubler to the transom framing”. Does that mean I need to add another layer of framing around the transom or is what I have in the picture correct?

I struggled with that part too. If you look carefully at the plans...Boise Brit pointed out that it calls for an extra thickness (board) to accept the deck beams...but that's on the curved part...or the barrel.

Ok, I’ll have to look at them again. I suppose by the time the boat is finished everyone has the plans memorized 😆. I’m guessing I could add a thickness that would be thick enough to support the landing of the battens, keel sheer and chine.

Corey,

What you have there looks correct.
Read and re read and look at other build pics.

If you need any I can dig them out and send to you as you need

I agree too, this looks correct. Camber boards secure to the flat plywood surface and the chine, sheer, battens and keel secure to the hardwood frame doubler.
