Developing cutting "files" for planking a Titan

Post by slug »

I have talked to a builder of aluminum boats who will laser cut aluminum planking for me, but he uses CNC. Is it possible to develope these files from patterns?

Slug,

There has been quite a discussion of this on another thread:

Hope that helps...

Yes, it's possible. You need a scanner that will scan that width and software to do it. I've done it a few times, it takes lots of time but it's fairly simple.

Thanks Gayle for the referral.
Eric; Would one make a cardboard template of the plate first (would be quite large I would think ) then scan the template?

No, scan the template itself.
