I got started building a Belle Isle 23 a couple of months ago. Billy C (the other Belle Isle Builder) suggested I post a couple of photos of my progress. After trying to figure out how to do this from Dave Grason... I am hoping these links will work. I am sure there must be a better way :?:

Everyone has there own unique challenges and my project has a few of its own. Namely I live in an old 125 year old house with no garage and a work area in my basement that is more like an dungeon than a shop. Never the less, "when there is a will there is a way." My plan was to make as many of the parts as possible and then move the project outside this spring. I plan to purchase some form of temporary shelter... like the kind of tents sold through Jamestown Distr and set up in my backard (any suggestions on this would be appreciated?)

After getting the frames built I figured I would do a dry assembly in my basement. The boat just barely fits. I think I can add the keel, chine logs and battens and do some of the fairing (all without glue) before I disassemble and make my move outside.

Anyway here are a couple of photos along with one of my last projects... a nice strip built kayak which I am very pleased with.

I would like to thank Billy for his encouragement and generous advice to this point. I am getting a great deal of joy out of this project and really enjoy the forum! :D

Kayak turned out beautiful!

I don't think I'd fair the frames till set up permanently outside due to possible(probable) shifting

Sam's club has temp shelters too for not too much money

Dick, I edited your post and got the photos to show up. I figured out the photobucket "secret." lol

On the photobucket site, when you are viewing a photo, over to the right of the photo will be some advertising. Below the ad will be a list of URLs. They will be labeled:

Share URL - Email & IM

Direct Link - Layout Pages

HTML Code - Websites & Blogs

IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards

Click one time on the URL under "Direct Link - Layout Pages." It will automatically copy. Come to your post on this forum, click on the "Img" button, right click and paste your URL from the photobucket site and then click on the "Img*" button again.

Quick! Go try it and see if it works for you.
